Issues related to game saves on PC often occur due to the user's security privileges on the machine they are playing on. If you are experiencing issues viewing or creating new saves in your game, you should check your PC for any software which prevents writing new files and the game folders to ensure that you have write permissions enabled.
If you can load the save anyway just load it. As long as nothing is missing it may just be the game getting confused with the newer saves as the cache is all connected. It should stop once you have loaded the save the first time if that is the issue. Make a new save of that character is best if it does load.
I'm playing at level 125, have all the settlements build, did all the quests and now i started to build vault 88, but strangely enough the new saves won't load anymore, i mean i can save and they show up in the savegame folder as well in the list of the game but ican get no loadings anymore, it has nothing to do with memory or gpu use because
Fallout 4 Will Not Locate Saves. I just recently did a reinstall of Windows 10 (sigh) onto a new SSD. I had Fallout 4 and some other games backed up to my HDD, then moved them to the new SSD. Steam located the game just fine etc, but here's the hitch. For some reason, Fallout 4 will not go into C:/Documents/My Games/Fallout 4, I think it
For me it's This PC > Windows (C:) > Programs Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Fallout 4 > Fallout 4 folder inside the main folder where the fallout4.exe is at. then right click on Fallout4Prefs.ini Click on properties. Uncheck read-only then hit apply and ok.
3ct0H. Last but not least I keep my saves folder under 100 saves. This means every so often I have to go in the saves folder and move some older saves to a Backup Saves folder I create. There is no need for this if you cycle through a limited set of saves, let's say 3. Overwriting other manual saves (as by your statement "I don't save over saves") are
2: You do not want to quick save. It's a pain in the ass, but the same issues that have plagued Bethesda games since Oblivion, is that both the quick save and auto save features will eventually kill your save. Even after all of this time, they haven't even remotely fixed the issues related to these features.
Hi I copied some hard copy Fallout 4 Saves made in 2015 from my USB and tried to load them on my digital Fallout 4 copy. They are not showing up on the save list at all. I imagine the many patches and DLCs have made the saves incompatible but can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Your saves can be found in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 incase you want to check to see if there still there. always back them up off your PC, to a media device, thumb drive. The files are in my save data on my ps4. I did transfer all my data from my old ps4 to my new pro a few months back but if I had no issue with other saved data. I've tried starting a new game and loading it then but the save files dont show up, the only one there is the auto save from this new playthrough!
But after the new update I can't load any Fallout 4 save with it. Using the usual shortuct and Steam works fine, and I uninstalled all mods and started a new save to try again, but after I leave a save that save will always crash the game after I load, is there a fix to this, or am I just doing a dumb?
